Quickly Access Up to 7 Years of Transaction History
Have you ever had a customer ask what they ordered last year or two or 4 years ago? Or wonder what you purchased from a vendor 3 or 6 years ago, or which vendor it was? Now you can simply call up the old transaction in your current company file and find out. Version 2006 lets you choose to save up to 7 years past transaction history in your current year file for easy reference. Simply drill down to view the original transactions, or run a report for a date range. You decide when or if to purge previous year transactions. You can’t change these transactions so there’s no worry about changing prior year balances. Choose which years to keep, and purge prior year transactions whenever you like.
It happens to all of us – we set up accounts for a specific expense, let’s say Gasoline, for example. Then we realize we actually would prefer Gasoline under the Automobile Expense account. Or, you discover that expenses have been randomly entered under either account. Now you can combine the two accounts into one, bringing both account histories, transactions and amounts to the single account. More organized accounts create more accurate reports for a better understanding of your company’s financial picture.
Have duplicate contact cards? No doubt you do. Version 2006 makes it easy to combine both cards into one. No more searching through similar cards to find the one you need, or adding transactions to the wrong customer or vendor. Plus, if you have many older cards that you would like to delete but can’t because they still have transactions, you can create an “Obsolete Customer” card and continue to merge all your old cards into one (assuming you no longer need individual histories). Version 2006 tidies things up for you.
Planning is often considered the key to a successful business and budgeting is a good way to start. Version 2006 makes budgeting quicker and simpler by allowing budget planning for next year while still in the current year. Plus, enter your budgets faster from a single window that displays all your balance sheet accounts together on a single window and all your profit and loss accounts on another. You’ll also enjoy new budgeting shortcuts, including copying from this year’s budget into next year’s, automatic calculations of monthly figures based on quarterly numbers or a monthly percentage increase, and the ability to import and export your budgets. It’s never been easier to keep your business on track.
Compliance with state and federal payroll tax regulations is not on anyone’s top–ten list of enjoyable things to do. But version 2006 just made it a whole lot easier. Now you can pay and track your accrued payroll liabilities in a snap. Version 2006 clearly shows you what you have paid and what is outstanding for each accrued payroll liability, such as taxes, retirement funds, union fees, etc. You don't even need to figure out the amount to write on the check, just let version 2006 automatically calculate the amount you owe for each category. Plus, you’ll have a concise report to see what’s been paid and what the balance is. It can’t get any easier. If you use MYOB payroll, this feature is gold for you.
Tracking, verifying, approving, or changing employee time is easier than ever. Pay employees as you do today or use the new timesheet to pay employees from. Simply enter time worked on a timesheet that looks and works just like your paper timesheets, with days across the top and totals for the day and week. Then let MYOB quickly process payroll based on your timesheets for fast and accurate processing. Plus, track vacation and sick time for both hourly and salaried employees, maintaining complete records to assure employees of accurate paycheck amounts. Time tracked here can even be used for billing purposes. For even faster payroll, simply copy last week’s timesheet to this week’s, or import from other applications into MYOB timesheets.
As added benefits, add your job numbers to each line on your timesheet and/or choose to have MYOB include time tracked from Time Billing to flow directly to the employee’s timesheet for payroll.
Sometimes you just don’t print paychecks on the period end date. No worries. Version 2006 retains the pay stub figures for the pay period, not the print date.
Maintain the confidentiality of your payroll records. Version 2006 has a more powerful Audit Trail that now includes payroll, letting you see if someone changed an employee’s key payroll information, if there have been changes made to wage categories, or if payroll tax tables have been loaded. Your secure information can remain just that.
We don’t always get what we ordered when our shipment of inventory arrives, but MYOB version 2006 is ready for any situation. Version 2006 is equipped with a new Receive Inventory function to take care of the accounting flow behind the scenes. Place your order, receive against the order, track what’s still outstanding to be received and change it into a bill, while maintaining a connection with the original purchase order.
For even more flexibility, as an option, Version 2006 allows a negative item count so that you can sell items that have not yet been received, plus it allows the receiving of items into inventory without yet knowing item costs.
To create purchase orders faster and more accurately, MYOB allows the option to use a standard cost for items rather than the last purchase price to ensure you are placing your order at the correct cost.
Whether you want to organize items by bin and shelf locations, or house them in different warehouses, version 2006 will accommodate your needs. There’s no need to create different item codes for each warehouse and no worries about maintaining enough stock – version 2006 will let you know how many of each item is in each location or warehouse. Selling items from different warehouses or locations couldn’t be easier or faster, simply select the location on the invoice and let MYOB take care of the rest.
Many MYOB customers enjoy the convenience and increased sales from accepting credit card payments from customers directly from their MYOB invoice. Version 2006 enhances the process. These are simple changes that become powerful timesavers. Take your processing method, for example. Version 2006 requires that you make a choice between manual entry of card information and swiping the credit card. This assures that you receive the correct rate for the transaction, while making the entry easier.
Many businesses will have a need for many recurring transactions that end up being almost exactly the same. For example, you may have a recurring invoice for one customer but would like to use the same recurring invoice for many other customers. Now with Version 2006, simply choose the recurring transaction that you would like to copy and then choose for which customers or vendors you would like to create the same recurring transaction. This can save you hours of data entry.
Many businesses owners prefer to get work done ahead of time whenever possible. This is often especially the case at the end of the year or month when you may want to process many recurring invoices or checks in December to get them finished, but you want them dated in January. Instead of changing your system date to fudge the dates, now you can call up your To Do List and enter the date you want as the recorded date.
